Barbie’s Beauty Tips: How to Make Your Beauty Routine more Sustainable
To honor Earth Day, I thought it was important to discuss sustainable, environmentally-conscious beauty products. The natural and sustainable beauty industry continues to gain momentum with a variety of companies. However, it is easy to make your existing beauty routine more eco-friendly and cost-effective. So if you have been thinking about making some sustainable changes to your beauty routine, there’s no better time than Earth Day month to start adopting some of these tips!
Why Is Sustainable Beauty Important?
You may have stumbled upon this blog post accidentally. This is what it does for me. One of my best friends has been very careful about this. She asked me to give some tips. Sustainable beauty helps conserve precious resources. They rely on the available resources, including the hard and plastic materials used to package beauty products. You can slow down depletion by making sustainable beauty changes to your routine. Select Products in Sustainable Packaging
Look for deodorants and moisturizers that are recyclable or recycled packaging when shopping. Thanks to increased awareness in the industry, this shouldn’t be hard to do. You can recycle your beauty products by looking for makeup and skincare made from sustainable materials such as glass or plastic.
Make sure to recycle the product once you have switched to one that is recyclable. Look for schemes where you can return your empty products for free (or return them for reward points for a free product), or put the packaging into your recycling bin when you’re finished. You can reuse your beauty packaging
You can reuse your Beauty Products by using refill packs.
You can use many products for various purposes. You can store your brushes in cylinder packaging. Mascara brushes can be used to create eyebrow and eyebrow brushes. You can also use an old toothbrush to exfoliate your lips or to manage wild hairs.
Reduce waste by multitasking your beauty products
Make your beauty routine more manageable and reduce waste. You can use your products in many different ways. There are many uses for everyday makeup. Take, for example, Mascara Beauty Hacks
Mascara can be used on your eyebrows and eyelashes. It can also be used to cover grey hairs. Beauty Tips for Lipstick:
Lipsticks can be used as blushes, concealers, or the obvious. It can be used on your eyes, depending on its color. Eyeliner Pencil – Use this pencil to create a smokey look for your eyes, eyebrows, and contour your nose. (Use brown for the nose). Hair Conditioner:
Other than the hair on your head, conditioner can be used for all other areas. Use conditioner for your body, hair, and fabric.
This is an environmentally friendly alternative to shampoo bottles. Shampoo bars are highly concentrated and eco-friendly. They’re often packaged in recyclable cardboard, reduce your waste, and keep your hair just as clean as a regular shampoo, lasting longer than the average bottle.
Do You Really Need Disposable Makeup Remover pads?
Non-biodegradable items such as cotton pads and makeup wipes are harmful to the environment. MAKEUP ERASER is your answer. It is an eco-friendly, water-based cloth that removes ALL your makeup. The Makeup Eraser is reusable. Unlike makeup wipes made up of materials like polyester and polypropylene, they also take years to break down in landfills as they don’t biodegrade. Over 3,600 wipes are contained in one Makeup Eraser fabric. It can be washed and reused for up to five years.
An added bonus is that the backside of your product can also be used for exfoliating skin. Save On Water
Americans consume about 100 gallons per day of water at home. Tons of water goes to waste because many people still leave the water on while brushing their teeth or washing their face. This leads to lots of wasted water.
If you are not using the water, turn it off
Dry Shampoo is Your Best Friend
Do you wash your hair more than once a week? Dry shampoo can be used for just one or two washes to help you save water.
Choose Eco-Friendly Brands
You can make your beauty routine more eco-friendly by looking for environmentally friendly brands. Learn how to read packaging labels and learn the symbols that indicate whether the product is vegan, cruelty-free or clean. You can find a lot of lists online that will help you identify the best brands, and what to look for when you shop.
Let’s sum it all
We all play some part, no matter how insignificant the suggestions above may sound. Sadly for us, beauty lovers, the beauty industry and beauty companies are among the world’s largest polluters. Millions of personal-care products and beauty packaging are bought each year. Much of this packaging cannot be recycled or repurposed. These products end up in the trash. It doesn’t matter how small, it all matters!
